Trademarks

A trademark identifies a product or service, whether by way of words, a logo, a shape or distinct packaging. It contributes to the reputation of the company, and must be protected given the investment that has been required in order to create it.

Above all, it is necessary to ensure that the trademark that you have chosen is available, that is to say that it has not yet been registered by a third party. Then, it is necessary to determine the territory within which your trademark will confer on you the exclusive right to prohibit any abusive exploitation by a third party.

The filing of a trademark registration application can be undertaken at the national office, at the EUIPO (the European Union Intellectual Property Office) in order to cover the European Union, or, in order for it to have effect in a number of countries outside of the EU, it can be the subject of an international application via the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office).

Our partnership with the firm Distinctive ensures that you are given the best advice for the purposes of meeting your needs in relation to trademarks.
